Last year the fireworks on the 4th of July in Silverton were outsourced to a private firm and the show was panned by a lot of people. This year we are happy to announce that the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department will be back in charge and the location has been returned to the Shrine of the Mines hill behind town.
The 4th of July is a HUGE deal for the small town of Silverton as we welcome up to 25,000 people to our tiny population of 600 souls. The day is jam packed with amazing things to do from Fun Runs, to Ducky Races, Rhubarb Pie, Parades, and so much more. But the icing on the cake has always been the Fireworks, and the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department has been doing an amazing job of it for the past 30 odd years. So we warmly welcome them back for 2017!
This year we will have an amazing amount of gunpowder to blow off with the introduction of electronic firing methods to help better control the timing. Make sure to check by often for updates.
